Colour to Communities 2025 - Now Open!

The Paint Reuse Network of Ireland is delighted to announce that our paint giveaway is now open!


Does a community space near you need some TLC? 

Our Colour to Communities paint giveaway brightens community spaces while reducing waste. We're thrilled to offer this opportunity for community groups and organisations to win free paint. 


If you’ve got a community space in mind and a design up your sleeve, simply enter for a chance to win high-quality, water based, reused paint and stop it from going to waste.

  • Submissions will be judged internally by the Paint Reuse Network based on three criteria:

    • Relevance of the project to the local area

    • Involvement of the local community

    • Feasibility of the proposal

    Three submissions will be successful - one in each of Ireland’s National Waste regions:

    • Eastern and Midlands Region

    • Southern Region

    • Northern and Western Region

    Who can apply?

    • Schools

    • Community Groups eg. Tidy Towns, Men’s Sheds, Growing Groups

    • Charities 

    • Social Enterprises

    Successful submissions will be awarded 100L of water based paint to implement their proposed project, along with Polyvine in order to make the paint outdoor-safe. Colour batches will be a minimum of 5.6 litres in volume. Winners may request up to 8 colours in total. Winners should be able to collect paint prizes from their closest Paint Reuse Network Member.

    The entry must be made by a person aged 18+. By participating in the competition, applicants consent to the Paint Reuse Network using images of their paint project to promote the Paint Reuse Network and reused paint in digital and print forms. Participants should obtain permission from relevant site owners prior to applying to the competition. The Paint Reuse Network is not responsible for obtaining any such permissions. The Paint Reuse Network does not accept liability for the implementation of any of the successful projects. The Paint Reuse Network will not provide any hardware such as paint brushes, rolling trays, rollers, or aprons. The Paint Reuse Network is not liable for any injury caused during painting activities. 

    Proposed projects will be ineligible if they include any of the following:

    • Designs and proposals that breach copyright;

    • Commercial brands, trademarks, advertisements, business names, logos, copyrighted images, or commercial promotions;

    • Imagery of drug use, alcohol, racism, violence, or discrimination;

    • A likeness of another person, without first obtaining permission (GDPR);

    • Breaches of planning permission requirements.

    Previous winners of Colour to Communities will not be considered for the paint giveaway.
